I cannot stress enough how delicious the food was. I highly recommend their steaks and the pigeon breast as a starter! The atmosphere was nice and the waiters were very polite. They made sure everything was okay.
I’ve always wanted to go to Porters for dinner but never got round to it. So we bit the bullet and did a family trip. Tonight was amazing. We we’re served by Liam, who was very attentive and lovely. He helped us decide on which steaks to have, and drinks also.
Best steak in Southampton for sure. The dry aged steaks have a brilliant meaty taste to them and come in generous portions. Perfect for a special occasion.

What a great place to eat. Incredible selection of steaks and fish. All very high quality and cooked to perfection. Staff all very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable on the cuts. Just can’t fault it. After going all out on steak I’d be interested to try some of the more ‘normal’ items on the menu such as the burgers to see how they compare to other restaurants in Southampton. If the quality is anything like the steak platter I had then I’ll be in for a treat. Best steak in Southampton? Easily.
Atmosphere and food were lovely. The staff when we arrived were very informative and showed us all the different ranges of meat & fish that had been caught around the world. The food & presentation was spot on. It got a bit busy towards the end of the meal and perhaps not enough staff to accommodate all the customers, we ended up skipping dessert as it took so long. Either way quality was good and we’ll be back.
The staff who served us were polite and helpful, and we did have some good banter with them, and they very kindly made me a happy birthday plater. P.S. One very minor thing, if you ask a table if they want water, it’d be appreciated if you specify tap water or bottled because we just wanted tap water.

The are many different places to eat in the city. I avoid the chain restaurants because I want quality over price. This is an authentic steakhouse and I wanted a burger rather than the steak. I was not disappointed. I went for the “medium rare” cooked with chunky chips and a little salad.
Great Service, very good food, I had the Ribeye and the Mac and cheese, the ribeye was cooked to order and the Mac and Cheese was very flavorful. Will definitely come back again. The servers were very friendly and made you feel welcomed.
Was a little worried after reading the reviews but we went for it. Arrived at 6 pm ( Saturday night) which turned out to be the best time to arrive as it got really busy around 6:30 ish.
