I have been training with Defend for nearly 3 years now and I can honestly say I have absolutely loved every minute! Every lesson is challenging but equally fun and I always leave with a sense of achievement and wanting to learn more.

I had zero experience with any kind of self defence techniques and was very nervous about starting but the instructors at Defend are absolutely brilliant and able to cater to all levels of skill and ability. They make you feel welcomed, push you to try your best and are very skilled instructors. They also make it a lot of fun! Can’t recommend them enough.

I have been with Defend for 6 years and have loved every lesson. Everyone is really friendly, patient and respectful to all that join. It doesn’t matter if you have never thrown a punch before or you have been practicing another combat sport for many years everyone helps each other to learn and improve in a safe and fun environment.

What We Offer:

Neon Martial Arts and Fitness proudly presents the Neon Open BJJ Gi & NoGi Championship which will take place at Testlands Hub, Southampton on 13th May 2023. We will be running both Gi and No-Gi divisions! The Gi competition is open to all Junior belts and White, Blue, and Purple belt Adult/Masters/Seniors divisions. The No Gi competition will operate in a similar manner. The event will be contested under standard IBJJF rules times (5 minutes for white belts & masters, 6 for Blue belts, and 7 minutes for Purple belts.). This event is capped initially at 300 competitors. We will not offer quick fixes or advice. Instead we will join you on your martial arts and fitness journey – supporting you on each step of the way.

In my 50’s I wanted to find somewhere to learn something new. I’ve now been learning to wrestle since September. The coaches are great and informative. The support from them and the others joining the class has been great. I have been carrying extra weight for a while, which we all seem to do in our 50’s, however having looked at my diet and coming to the classes, I have lost 7kg in 6 weeks. I feel and look better

The instructors are highly experienced, the classes are well structured and the atmosphere is great. Everyone is really friendly and it’s a great place to meet new people. The facilities are top notch and the equipment is always clean and in good condition. I’ve been going for a few months now and I can definitely see an improvement in my overall fitness and technique. Highly recommended!

I was made to feel welcome! The techniques we went over were brilliant and will be added to my game, the training was awesome and I’m really happy I made it to the gym.

Brilliant guys.. excellent way to get your child to grow more confidently or as an adult learn the art of martial arts. All the instructors are really knowledgeable and good with children. My boy has been going there for over 3 years now and I can definitely see how this has improved not only his confidence but also his attitude towards learning as a whole. I can’t recommend enough.

My son has been attending for nearly 3 years now, and has really enjoyed his sessions. Badr has been a great help both in instilling the discipline required and also in recognising when a little extra support and praise is needed. Perfect balance of fun and teaching and the way the club adapted during lockdown to allow the children still to train and keep fit was amazing.

My son started with AGMA June 2019. He has progressed in the most outstanding way since that time and I truly believe it is down to the dedication and commitment by the whole team at AGMA. His coach Badr is amazing with the children and always encourages them to try their best and gives them the confidence they need to excel. Throughout lockdown they provided online tutorials,you tube videos, Zoom classes and then when able outside sessions. It was this level of commitment that meant our son actually graded during lockdown and passed! Amazing martial arts school couldn’t ask for more.
