What We Offer:

I have been in the cake making business for many years. After first training at Southampton College in all aspects of catering, I decided Artisan Cake making was my forte and my passion. I started by making cakes at home and completing courses to keep up to date with the times. Just over 5 years ago I started working at the Daisy Cake Company where I became very good friends with Bronya. I not only baked and decorated the wedding and celebration cakes, but also helped to run the Bakery and Tea Room. I have now won many Awards at Cake International, including Bronze and Merit. My goal is to achieve Silver and Gold in the future. In order to continually improve my skills, and produce the finest cakes, I regularly look to do training with other Sugarcraft Professionals.

We got married last month and Sammie and Mark were fantastic in helping our day be the magical one it was. Sammie is very talented and made our vision come alive, it was spectacular! Everything we thought it would be and more!
We ordered a 50th Birthday cake for my Mum this Summer. Mark was very helpful in placing and processing the order and getting all the details sorted. Sammie’s work with the cake was brilliant, she took some ideas we had and made it into something truly wonderful that captured exactly what we hoped for. The cake was beautiful and tasted delicious! Many thanks for marking a special occasion with such a fab cake.

We’re a community bakery based on St James’ Road, Shirley, Southampton and were set up by the charity Communicare in Southampton. We offer a wide selection of scrumptious bread and produce including mouth-watering handmade cakes and our own bake sourdough loaves. We offer a range of high-quality sponge and fruit cakes and even use some gluten free, egg free and dairy free recipes too. If you have additional dietary requirements, do please speak to us and we will see if we are able to offer you something suitable. How are we different? Well, while you enjoy your tasty purchase, whether that be our delicious bread or yummy cakes, you can feel super pleased with yourself, as the profit made from your purchase will go to Communicare in Southampton.

I think this is just the sweetest independent store. It has a lovely vibe and seems to be a really caring sweet place. Such a lovely idea.
It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it’s what you’d pay in somewhere like Starbucks – and this is delicious, home-baked, good quality food, which doesn’t come cheaply. Also, you’re supporting the charity. The machinery back of house can be a bit noisy apparently, so if no one comes out to serve you in the shop, call out and they’ll come. It’s lovely, friendly, helpful service.
Great selection of fresh breads, pastries, sausage rolls, all sorts of cakes, some days bagels, others focaccia. They also serve great coffee. Lot of seasonal goods along with focus on using local products. And to top it all the proceeds are going to a good case.

I ordered the Mother’s Day tea and then more recently a torte as a birthday cake. Not only was the food delicious, the customer service was wonderful as well.
