What We Offer:

We got our start back in 1977, when a group of magistrates in Sussex noticed a pattern. They saw people going to prison, being released with no home to go to, re-offending and being sent back to prison, over and over again. So they decided to do something about it. Recognising that homelessness was the basis for the pattern, they pooled their resources and bought a house. From there, they started offering accommodation and support to people leaving prison. They called their charity the Sussex Association For The Rehabilitation of Offenders, or Saro for short. It was an innovative, effective idea. It wasn’t the norm to make a connection between drugs and crime, use early intervention or peer support, but it worked.

What We Offer:

Dawn and Jim started Recovered 4 Life back in 2004. The group was formed to help the less fortunate in life. Since it’s inception, we have helped the homeless, working girls, addicts, people with mental ill health from many countries around the world. The main purpose of R4L is to equip churches, NGO, charities, groups and organisations to help the marginalized. Both Dawn and Jim came from and addictive past and gotten over their addictions. Jim spent a year and a half homeless until he settled in the UK. Dawn was a drug addict, and even progressed into being a drug dealer. Both Dawn and Jim have changed completely from people they used to be. So, when people challenge you by saying you don’t know how it is, or you don’t know where I’ve been Dawn and Jim have been there.

Recovered 4 Life has been an extremely great experience. The studies in class gave me the opportunity to understand how to help addicts. The teach back sessions was practical and tough and felt like I was on the field with real addicts and this made me feel the need to assist them the Elijah project . The Recovered4Life project is actually heaven on earth for anyone with an addiction. R4L showers you with genuine love, the only rehab facility in the community with a bit of je ne sais quoi and it is completely free of charge.

I was a client with R4L and was on and off right from the get go before R4L name even existed In 2013 and every year they improved their skills built on their knowledge and experience of other clients and their needs at the right time to accomplish the best outcome .
