Founded in 1984, Wessex Tutors has already acquired an impressive academic record. As a small independent college we are tutors in Hampshire working with around 50 students on either a full time or part time basis. With excellent teaching facilities including a small library of essential textbooks and conveniently located 5 minutes walk from Central Station, Southampton, we are the college for you. With tuition taking place on the college premises students can stay and work between lessons in our student study room. We have facilities for making hot drinks and you are free to use the surrounding college gardens should you wish. We also provide home tuition after school. The strength of Wessex Tutors lies in the high calibre of its teachers, who are all graduates with teaching experience. The approach is sympathetic but firm, and importance is placed on keeping the students motivated and optimistic.

Gail at Wessex Tutors gave our son A-level Chemistry tuition and was absolutely excellent. She really tailored the sessions to his needs and helped him to jump up two grades. He was delighted and we would wholeheartedly recommend Wessex Tutors.
An absolutely remarkable and outstanding exam centre with very kind and friendly staff. As an ex-candidate I can say with confidence how excellent the tuition in biology is.
I cannot recommend this exam centre highly enough. Jill and Tina are consummate professionals, passionate about providing an outstanding service for their students. Throughout the exam process (which my son and I were both completely new to), we were supported every step of the way and felt valued and listened to. Comms were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Huge thanks to Paty also for her superb Spanish lessons! I whole-heartedly endorse the Wessex Tutors team and will definitely use their services again.

My son started Kumon in Shirley at the start of the pandemic and it is one of the best things we have ever done! His mental agility is very good and he is very confident in maths. Ivy and Alistair are brilliant, both with the students and their parents, supportive, approachable and very responsive if you ever need to contact them. Strongly recommended.
My eldest has been doing Kumon for about two years now and I’ve seen a massive improvement in his abilities in both Maths and English. He went from someone that was average in Maths to one of the top students in his class at the moment. The effort has certainly paid off and he’s far more confident with numbers now than he ever was – often doing most if now all calculations in his head! 😮
I would highly recommend Kumon to anyone that thats looking supplement their child’s learning with additional Maths and English. Ivy and her team are really great and have often been very accommodating from reducing/increasing work, to start times and also making sure the children have everything they need to be able to complete their work.

Adolf has been helping my son with his A-level maths. Adolf is friendly and my son is very happy working with him. He is well organised and encourages my son to complete work outside of the sessions. Adolf keeps me up to date on my sons progress and I am very happy with the difference it is making to my sons confidence in his maths.
My son has improved a lot both in maths and in confidence since he started with Adolf. Adolf is patient and genuinely interested in the success of his students. My daughter has also just started with him and we can notice the improvement already. I will absolutely 100% recommend.
My son left school hating this subject which he failed and with no concept of the foundation of the subject. He would like to become an Engineer but without maths, this is unlikely, therefore, I decided he would need the best tutor I could find. I took my time in my search until I found Adolf who I knew had the right qualities for my son. Adolf has the in-depth knowledge of maths ( at all levels), he has the patience but above all, he teaches in a way that my son understands and enjoy for the first time. If you are struggling with this subject at any level I highly recommend Adolf for his service.
